Two Peaches

This is an oil-painting on a 5"x7" stretched canvas (peaches are roughly life-size) where I really took the effort to render the peaches in as much detail as I could while still maintaining a sense of brushwork. There is something to be said about realism that appears somewhat loose and effort-less, where the individual brushwork is slightly visible and one can see the elegance of how the realism is conveyed step-wise. The deep reds and nuance of shades and chroma on peaches provided the main inspiration of the subject matter.
