I am known for my historical paintings of the Eastern Woodland Frontier of the 18th century. Native Americans often took captives . These captives were assimilated into a new culture and loved as any member of the Native Nation. Many captives were "rescued " , but most did not wish to return to the hard life among white settlers on a wilderness frontier.
My painting is a right in your face view of fresh captives ... their uncertain future ..among hostile Natives... thankful to be alive, but helpless.
