Emergence

Funny things happen in recovery as you emerge from anesthesia after surgery. As I fought my way to the surface, I remember calling out, “Wait… wait, I’m painting a Masterpiece. Well, I didn’t get to finish it, but I still vividly remember the painting, so I decided to recreate it… I believe this wave represents breaking through to the surface following my analgesic state of unconsciousness.
