This is an oil painting on linen. I am very inspired by cityscapes, the architectural quality, the life, the mystery and the energy that flourishes and sparkles. I worked the first layer with big, spontaneous, loose strokes to describe the main shapes and the complementary tension of the piece. As it is often the case I am drawn to the play of light and shadows, movement and stillness, reality and abstraction of it all.
