This entrance to our Baja Casa is symbolizes the Western Spirit of the Baja desert to me. Everything beyond it is wild. It frames the sky, the mountains beyond and the road coming to this wild place of refuge. The negative space surrounding the entrance portal, embraces the clarity and air that I receive from the desert. I wanted to capture that unique iconic gritty Baja spirit in this plein air painting.
